    Ethnography

A collection unlike any other in the world

    Private museum, Arbogast collection

The one-of-a-kind Château Vodou houses the largest private collection of West-African voodoo objects in the world.

All the objects presented have been used in religious practices: ancestor worship, medicine, divination, witchcraft and many ceremonies associated with the key stages of life.

Thanks to an outstanding exhibition design, the public discovers a little-known culture and a philosophy of life that is still widespread today.

The collection, from Ghana, Benin, Togo and Nigeria, reveals its secrets in an exceptional setting: a water tower from 1878.

Audio guides are available in French, German, English and Spanish.

Guided tours for groups (in French, German or English) are possible every day, by reservation (over 8 people).
