Artisanal brewery in Strasbourg
The name Perle was taken from a former Alsatian brand from Schiltigheim that closed down in the early 1970s.
Christian Artzner, the master brewer, is the great-great-grandson of the original founder of Perle, established in 1882.
He brought the name back to life in 2009, 40 years after it closed its doors.
Their beers are all made on site. Six of their subtle and delicate beers are available all year round: Perle Pils, Nature (organic lager), Blanche Perle et les 7 Grains (Snow Perle and the 7 Grains), IPA (India Pale Ale), Hop (single Hop) and Perle dans les Vignes (Perle in the Vines).
The range is expanded with seasonal specials, such as la Noël (Christmas beer), la Florale, la Perle des Iles (Perle of the Islands) and many other surprises...
You can buy their beers directly from the brewery, at the Strasbourg Christmas Market, and at beer fairs across France and abroad.
Group tours can be reserved online, and take you through each step of the beer-making process, from the raw materials (malt, hops) to storage and sales.
