In 2023, the Strasbourg Christmas Market will be open from Friday, 24 November through Sunday, 24 December.

The City of Strasbourg, which organises the “Strasbourg, Capital of Christmas” event, is looking for ways to save energy, but the Christmas lights are still part of the plan. On 24 November, the lights will be turned on, and they’ll stay on until 7 January, every day from 4 pm to 11 pm.

Yes, the Great Christmas Tree will be on Place Kléber for the Strasbourg Christmas Market in 2023. The perfect tree has already been chosen, and it will be put in place and decorated in November, so that it will be ready for the first day of the Christmas Market, on Friday 24 November.

In 2023, the Strasbourg Christmas Market will be open everyday from 11am to 9 pm.

Except on 25 November (from 2pm to 9pm) and 24 December (from 11am to 6pm).

Lots of visitors come to Strasbourg during the Christmas Market! That’s why we recommend reserving a place to stay several months in advance. If there are no vacancies in the city centre, you can stay in other districts of Strasbourg, or in the towns of the Eurometropolis, which are within easy reach using public transport, such as the tram system.

Parking is prohibited on the street and in parking structures throughout the Grande Île quarter, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, starting on 25 November at 10 pm.

The easiest way to come to Strasbourg during the Christmas Market is by train. If you drive here, we recommend using the Park & Ride facilities (Relais-Tram) outside of the city centre. Located near tram stops, these car parks make it easy to park and then get into the city centre in just a few minutes, by hopping on the tram.

You are not allowed to drive in the Grande Île district, which is the historical centre of Strasbourg, from 11am to 8 pm for the duration of the Christmas Market. If you’re staying at a hotel in the Grande Île district, find out how to reach it by car by asking the hotel ahead of time.

In fact, in Strasbourg, it’s not just one Christmas market – it’s lots of Christmas markets! They are spread out in Grande Île, which is the historical centre of Strasbourg.
